"Five and a half years ago at the playground Keegan spotted a bunch of kids from a taekwondo summer camp. Curious as ever, he went over and talked to them and thus began our journey with taekwondo. Our family has been changed in countless positive ways by taekwondo. Most of the friends we've made after we moved were made through our involvement with taekwondo and now they're like family. My kids have learned lessons in perseverance, self-control, respect, kindness, hard work and resilience."

Today is Christmas.
I considered skipping today’s blog, but during this season, our students naturally came to mind. At Lion Martial Arts Taekwondo, we begin by asking a simple but important question:
“Who is this child?”
We do not start by measuring how strong a child is
or how quickly they progress.
Instead, we look at temperament, emotional development, and how each child experiences and responds to the world. Some children are energetic and expressive. Others are quiet observers.
Some simply need more time. These are not problems to fix.
They are qualities to understand and respect. This is why our school uses a specialized temperament-based approach to guide instruction and growth. Taekwondo is more than physical training. It is education of the body, mind, and character. Through training, children develop discipline, respect, perseverance, and greater awareness of their emotions and actions.
As instructors, we carry a responsibility beyond teaching techniques. We are here to help children grow into confident, respectful, and self-aware individuals.
To the families who already train with us, thank you for trusting us with your children.
To parents reading this for the first time, we hope this helps you understand who we are and what we value.
Lion Martial Arts Taekwondo is more than a martial arts school. It is a place where each child is seen, understood, and guided.
Wishing you a warm holiday season.
